Assam is Protesting Against Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 - Reasons
Yesterday, the Central Home Minister introduced the Citizen Amendment Bill 2019 and it passed in parliament with a good number. But the congress and Non-NDA party people opposed severely. Congress leader Rahul quoted it as against the Constitution.
Bill Contains
- The bill is providing citizenship for Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
- It excluded Muslim Migrants from all three countries.
- Tamilians from Sri Lanka also not Mentioned.
- Rohingyas from Mayanmar is not mentioned.
After the Bill is passed all over the country from the Muslim country and from the northeast countries protests were done. Mainly From Assam all over the states protests are going on. Assamese is known for protecting culture and identity.

If the bill is implemented then the Bangla people both Hindu and Muslim who were settled in Assam now they may dominate the Assam and they may spoil the culture of Assam and their language. Social Media Propaganda is also providing oil for flame-like posts are travelling on Social Media that 1cr people from Bangladesh will come to Assam and will occupy the Assam. they may get benefits from the Bill. But anyway the bill contains that the bill was meant for the people who migrated on or before 2014 only. Local political leaders also giving support to the protests and all.
